The Hagiwara Lab in the Department of Information and Computer Science of Keio University’s Faculty of Science and Technology is trying to realize a robotic brain that can carry on a conversation, or in other words, a robotic brain that can understand images and words and can carry on thoughtful communication with humans.
“Indeed now, huge advancement is, no doubt made with robots, and enormous progressions are continuously made with the control parts. In any case, we feel like R&d with respect to the mind has been fundamentally deferred. When we contemplate what sorts of capacities are vital for the mind, the first thing that we as people do is visual data preparing. As such, the mind needs to have the capacity to process what is seen. The following thing is the dialect data transforming that we as people actualize. By utilizing dialect abilities, people have the capacity perform greatly exceptional learned preparing. Notwithstanding, regardless of the fact that a mechanical cerebrum can handle what it sees and utilization words, it is even now failing to offer one thing, particularly, emotions and feelings. In this manner, as a third column, we’re leading research on what is called Kansei Engineering, or full of feeling data handling.”

The Hagiwara Lab has received a methodology of gaining from the data handling of the human cerebrum. The group is attempting to build a mechanical cerebrum while concentrating on three components: visual data transforming, dialect data preparing, and emotional data handling, and a significantly more paramount point is coordinating these three components.

The mechanical cerebrum focused by the Hagiwara Lab is one that is not simply shrewd. Rather, the lab is focusing on a mechanical cerebrum with feelings, sentiments, and soul that will empower it to interface skillfully with people and different situations. To attain this, the lab is leading an expansive scope of exploration from the essentials of Kansei Engineering to applications thereof in fields, for example, stimulation, outline, and mending.
